Pet care at Home
In the summer, you should
take precautions to protect your family from the spread of summer diseases. But
don't forget the pets. You may think that animals are stronger, but as the
temperature rises they also need extra care. Here are some tips to take care of
your pets at home in the summer:
Care for Dogs
You have a dog that plays,
jumps, can get tired when it's too hot. Take a look at some of the symptoms of
fatigue or anxiety.
The same precautions you
take with your children when it comes to cars are just as important for your
dog. That is, do not leave it alone in a closed car, not even for a while and
not even by opening the windows. Doing so in extreme heat can endanger its
health.
Provide clean drinking water to your dog throughout the day. Even though it is very hot, don't forget to get your dog to exercise daily. Choose the right time in the summer and take it for a walk or exercise.
After a long walk or play, you can give the dog an
ice cube that he can play with and feel cool. If your dog has thick fur, take
extra care to keep it clean and cool in summer.
The best way is to shave 50% of your dog's hair. It gives him more coolness and comfort. Understand your dog's distress signs and symptoms. Excessive panting, lethargy, suffocation, or a body temperature above 105 to 106 degrees Fahrenheit can be signs of heatstroke.
Take care of this immediately and put it in a cold water tub or
sprinkle cold water on it. Call a doctor or, if necessary, take the dog to a
clinic for treatment for dehydration.
Care for Cats
Cats are more susceptible
to heat stroke, and if their body temperature rises too much, serious illness
can even lead to their death. If you find your cat restless even at rest time, it
may be bothered by the heat.
Keep an eye over symptoms
such as shortness of breath, resin dripping and sweat on feet. Serious symptoms
of heat exhaustion include shortness of breath, vomiting, and extreme lethargy.
The tongue or mouth may also be red.
It is best not to take
your cats in direct sunlight. But if it suffers from heatstroke, keep it in a
cool or air-conditioned room or cover with a damp cloth. Take it to the doctor
and get treatment and keep an eye on it constantly.
Cars for Birds
Birds are very fragile and
can be badly affected by high temperatures, so keep them indoors. If it is very
hot outside, spray water on them as the temperature rises. Remember to keep
their cages clean so they don't get sick.
Tips to care Pet Birds in summer
🐥 Clean drinking water is
important not only because of heat, but also because the grain particles stay
in water for a long time, they become breeding grounds for bacteria and fungi.
So make sure that your birds have access to clean water.
🐥 Water containers need to
be washed and cleaned daily with dishwashing detergent. Make sure the soap is
well washed.
🐥 When you wash the water
container, you will notice that there is a thin liquid at bottom of the container.
This liquid needs to be washed properly on daily basis.
🐥 Fresh water should be
given early in the morning and it needs to be changed at any time in the
afternoon or around 5 pm so that the birds can drink as much fresh water as
possible.
🐥 Twice a day, clean water
is essential for your birds.
🐥 If any medicine needs to
be given in water, give it in the morning. Then drain the water and provide
fresh water to birds. Medicine or vitamin water must be changed on time.
